I recently had an egress window installed in our basement, and for this job I hired Jackson Egress Windows.

They are located in Galloway, Ohio, and they serve the Troy, OH area.They came at 8:00 am and were done by 10:30 am.

These guys are top of the line experts, and they are not expensive, between $5,000 and $6,000.

A few more notes:

  • Communication via email is fantastic.
  • They reply very quickly.
  • Unlike other contractors that use an excavator, these guys dig by hand. This means that your yard doesn't get torn at all. This also means that they can install an egress window virtually anywhere.
  • You need a permit for this from the Department of Development. They can get it for you if you want (they add the cost to the total, obviously). I decided to get it myself to speed things up, though.
  • If you decide to get the permit yourself, they provide the drawings you'd need for it.
  • They haul away all excess dirt, debris, concrete, etc. from the job at no extra cost. If you want to keep some/all the dirt, just ask them to leave it.
  • They are experts and are incredibly efficient.
  • Very, very friendly crew.
  • At the end, they explain things in a very simple way for you to use the egress window and to maintain it.
  • They offer a 2-year warranty on everything, independent of the manufacturer.

    • They have plenty of photos from prior projects. They even have videos on YouTube describing the installation process.
